Hydrological Drought Assessment in a Small Lowland Catchment in Croatia

چکیده
Hydrological drought is critical from both water management and ecological perspectives. Depending on its hydrological physical features, the resilience level of a catchment to groundwater can differ that meteorological drought. This study presents comparison indices based levels 1987 2018. A small area in Croatia, consisting two sub-catchments with continental climate minimum land-use changes during observed period, was studied. The first analysis made standardized precipitation index (SPI) evapotranspiration (SPEI). results showed their very high correlation. correlation between (SGI) different time scales (1, 3, 6, 12, 24 48 months) values, but had highest value longest scale, months, for all observation wells. Nevertheless, behavior SPI (GW) more related characteristics. indices, such as SGI, should be applied judiciously because sensitivity geographical, geomorphological, topographical characteristics, even areas.

Catchment hydrological functioning in a Mediterranean context
This study explores how catchment heterogeneity and variability can be summarized in simplified models, representing the dominant hydrological processes. It focuses on Mediterranean catchments, characterized by heterogeneous geology, pedology, and land use, as well as steep topography and a rainfall regime in which summer 5 droughts contrast with high-rainfall periods in autumn. The Ardèche cat...
متن کاملClimate change impacts on the leaching of a heavy metal contamination in a small lowland catchment.
The Keersop catchment (43km(2)) in the south of The Netherlands has been contaminated by the emissions of four zinc ore smelters. The objective of this study was to assess the effects of future projected climate change on the hydrology and the leaching of heavy metals (i.e. Cd and Zn) in the catchment. The numerical, quasi-2D, unsaturated zone Soil Water Atmosphere Plant model was used with 100...

The application of the hydrological processoriented model J2000 (J2K) is part of a cooperation project between the Thuringian Environmental Agency (Thüringer Landesanstalt für Umwelt und Geologie – TLUG) and the Department of Geoinformatics of the Friedrich-SchillerUniversity Jena focussing on the implementation of the EU water framework directive (WFD). In the first project phase J2K was param...
متن کاملAssessment of nutrient entry pathways and dominating hydrological processes in lowland catchments
The achievement of a good water quality in all water bodies until 2015 is legally regulated since December 2000 for all European Union member states by the European Water Framework Directive (EU, 2000). The aim of this project is to detect nutrient entry pathways and to assess the dominating hydrological processes in complex mesoscale catchments. The investigated Treene catchment is located in ...
متن کاملWhat happens after the catchment caught the storm ? Hydrological processes at the small , semi - arid Weatherley catchment , South - Africa
The knowledge of water flow pathways and residence times in a catchment are essential for predicting the hydrological response to a rain storm event. Different experimental techniques are available to study these processes, which are briefly reviewed in this paper. To illustrate this, recent findings from the Weatherley catchment a 1.5 km 2 semi-arid headwater in South-Africa, are reported in t...
